DeLonghi Coffeemaker with Timer – Black (DC55TCB) Review

DeLonghi Coffeemaker with Timer and#150; Black (DC55TCB)The coffee flavor is very good, if you use good coffee.I have read of complaints with the aroma button, but I have never used it.The coffee over flowing, a complaint with other coffee makers, is a matter of learning how to put the basket in properly. The coffee only stays warm after the initial hour or so, which is my complaint.Having a thermal caraf is the only way to go in my opinion. No more acid tasting coffee.

Cuisinart Coffee Maker On Demand - DCC-2000FR Review

Cuisinart Coffee Maker On Demand - DCC-2000FRI bought my first DCC-2000 in October 2006.It slowly faded out, with the controls shutting off unpredictably, until one day, it was just dead.I plugged it in and it wouldn't show the clock, nor would it turn on to brew the coffee.I contacted Cuisinart, who replaced it for a $10.00 shipping fee.I assume the replacement was refurbished. It began doing the same thing at about 9 months to a year.I coaxed about 5-6 more months out of it, but now it is sitting on my counter top DEAD.I will contact Cuisinart again, to see if they will replace again. However, I am not thrilled with having to replace this.A coffee pot that costs as much as this one does should last 5-10 years, not 18 months. When it works, it makes EXCELLENT coffee, and I love the feature of pushing the handle and getting hot, perfect, delicious coffee. It even has a gauge (my hubby enjoys that).

Krups KT4065 Precision Stainless Steel Precision Thermal Coffee Maker 10-c. Review

Krups KT4065 Precision Stainless Steel Precision Thermal Coffee Maker 10-c....but this may be the worst coffee maker ever designed. I've cleaned up my last overflow and am heading out to replace it. Yes, it looks great, and when it works, it makes good coffee. I was even willing to put up with the difficult water reservoir and the hard-to-read water gauge, but there is a problem with the design of the small flaps in the lid and the coffee ends up everywhere but in the pot. And today the small plastic tab that makes it possible to open the lid broke off. Could anything more go wrong with this design?

DeLonghi DCF210TTC Complete Frontal Access 10-Cup Drip Coffeemaker with Thermal Carafe Review

DeLonghi DCF210TTC Complete Frontal Access 10-Cup Drip Coffeemaker with Thermal CarafeHere is a well-made intelligently-designed coffee maker that works well, has some outstanding features, but has some significant differences from common automatic drip machines. Brewing into a thermal carafe with no burner or warming plate below the carafe means the coffee will not get the bitter taste of being kept hot by continuing to cook it. But, it also will probably not be quite as hot as some people would find ideal. It's a compromise and involves personal preference. For me, the coffee is plenty hot and remains at a pleasant drinking temperature for well over an hour.

The way the carafe and its lid have to be designed to keep the steam from escaping and thus keep the coffee warm means it will pour into your cup a bit more slowly than from an ordinary carafe. To me, that's not a big deal.

Some have reported not getting the carafe properly seated, thus allowing the freshly brewed coffee to spill all over the place. I have trouble imagining how that could happen and even more trouble imagining how anyone could let it happen more than once. I would expect any rational person, after having such a mess to clean up once, would make certain to seat the carafe correctly in the future. It's not rocket science.

There have been some comments by others that rating this as a 10-cup coffee maker is misleading. All manufacturers rate coffee maker capacity in terms of 5-ounce cups, demi tasse cups, if you will. I ordinarily use a 10-ounce mug. So being aware of this, I govern myself accordingly. No big deal, and nothing different from any other manufacturer. Frankly, I don't know of any normal person who actually uses demi tasse cups any more. That was a standard serving 100 years ago, but not today.

The instructions provided by DeLonghi are somewhat lacking and it doesn't help that they combine the instructions for several different models with different features into a single booklet, printed in several languages. Not as helpful as it could be. That said, most of the operation is fairly intuitive. It is a little bizarre that the clock shows the hour from midnight to 10:00 a.m. as "0." I guess that's a European standard, but find it strange on a clock that displays a.m. and p.m. rather than a 24-hour clock. That's just a little wierd to me, but does not diminish my enjoyment of this coffee maker.

Operation is reasonably easy and the quality of the brewed coffee is outstanding. I am well satisfied and do recommend this machine.

Product Description:
Brew up to 10 cups (50 ounces) of great-tasting coffee with this easy-to-use drip coffeemaker. Designed with the user in mind, the appliance offers complete frontal access to the water tank and ground-coffee filter for easy filling and cleanup. Without having to move the unit, simply open the door using the handle, pour water in the channel, and put grounds in the coffee filter. The unit also provides a 24-hour programmable digital timer with automatic shut-off, which makes it possible to have coffee ready and waiting first thing in the morning or after dinner to serve with dessert. Or for those in a hurry, its pause-and-serve function pauses the brewing cycle and allows for pouring a quick cup. The included double-walled thermal carafe features a unique vacuum-sealed design that retains heat to keep coffee hot and fresh-tasting for hours. The coffeemaker also provides an aroma button that activates a unique brewing process to achieve a full-bodied flavor. The coffeemaker advances through several continuous cycles where water gets released into the filter basket in 30-second intervals. This special time-released process saturates grounds a little at a time to extract the best flavor and aroma from coffee. Other highlights include a water-level indicator, a permanent gold-tone filter designed to keep even the finest grounds out of coffee, a cup warmer, a non-stick warming plate for easy cleanup, and cord storage to help keep counters looking tidy. The 900-watt drip coffeemaker measures 10-3/7 by 9-1/4 by 12-1/3 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty.

Mr. Coffee ISTX95 10-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Black/Stainless Review

Mr. Coffee ISTX95 10-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker, Black/StainlessOk, I nearly was pushed away by the bad reviews on this appliance but decided to give it a try.I bought it about a month ago & I really like it.

I have to start by saying that I am religious about my coffee.I only drink it if it is good coffee & prepared well.I grind my beans & I only use fresh coffee.I am very picky about every aspect of coffee drinking, it isn't a habit for me but rather an experience.

With that said, I have 'tested' each of the problems mentioned in the reviews & here is what I found:

Leaking & overflowing - I have never had that problem after weeks of use, I am not sure why one of the posters had this problem, maybe they overfilled it.

Coffee grains in coffee - Nope, no problem here, the coffee is perfectly filtered with a paper filter.I haven't seen a grain of coffee yet!

Coffee not staying warm - I find that if I keep the lid shut that the coffee stays nice & warm for over 2 hours.

Hard to fill - Yes, this coffeemaker is a bit difficult to fill but as someone else suggested, I just use my sink sprayer to fill it & it is a breeze (thanks for the suggestion!).

Doesn't pour quickly - Yes this is a bit of a slow pourer but I LOVE the caraffe so much that I won't complain about that at all.Patience is a virtue!

Someone else complained that they couldn't clean the caraffe. It does have a small opening but I have found no reason to scrub it (coffee doesn't burn on the bottom like a burner coffeemaker).I rinse it out with some soap & warm water each day & it is fine.It would be easy enough to use a bottle brush as needed.

At first I was disappointed with the strength of the coffee (I am a filter-press & espresso girl & I love it strong). So, I started adding quite a bit more coffee than what was suggested. Then one day, I forgot to put the carbon filter in.As a result, the coffee was very STRONG.So, from that point on, I used the 'regular' strength level and tossed my carbon filter into the garbage. It absolutely isn't needed, I didn't notice any change in flavor. So, bypass that silly expense!

The main reason why I was intrigued by this coffeemaker is the caraffe.I love the portability.I can take it outside or into the living room to read a book or to the computer, etc.The coffee tastes just as good an hour later & there isn't the burnt taste you get from the burner-type coffeemakers.

The clock & timers are self-explanitory & work well for me.

The coffeemaker is very nice looking & looks great on my counter.

I would recommend this coffeemaker to anyone who would enjoy the benefits & portability of the caraffe. It makes great coffee & has nice styling.

Krups FMF5 Coffee Maker Review

Krups FMF5 Coffee MakerI bought this Krups to replace a beloved Krups thermal carafe that sadly passed on. This new model features too many flaws. For one, the swing-open filter door doesn't always engage. Minor issue. If you pour your water into the machine too quickly, bubbles can form in the window, so you're never quite sure how much is in the machine. Further, my model always seems to leak both water and brewed coffee from the bottom of the machine. Granted, it's only the size of a quarter or half-dollar, but you don't expect this from a Krups. Finally, the carafe, itself, pours so broadly that leaks are inevitable. Sadly, this product does not live up to the Krups' reputation.

Product Description:
Combining appealing and distinctive design with a powerful, fully programmable brewing system, this 1100-watt coffeemaker brews up to 10 cups of coffee quickly and efficiently. Along with its bright, blue, illuminated LCD display, the unit's control panel offers simple push-button functions including "on/off", a fully programmable clock, a programmable timer/auto-on from one to five hours, and an aroma switch that can be set to maximize flavor for one to three cups when less coffee is desired. With a no-drip spout and a generous handle for easy pouring, the unit's double-wall stainless-steel vacuum carafe maintains flavor and temperature longer. A popular pause-and-serve function allows for pouring a cup midbrew, and an audible signal indicates when brewing is complete. The appliance includes a soft-eject swing-out filter holder for easily adding ground coffee, as well as a magnified water-level indicator for high visibility. The machine's 60-ounce water reservoir provides a built-in water filtration system that removes chlorine and lime scale build-up to ensure better tasting coffee and longer machine life, while its automatic electronic de-scaling indicator measures brew time and calculates when de-scaling is necessary. The coffeemaker measures 10-1/2 by 8-1/2 by 13-3/4 inches and carries a one-year warranty.

Mr. Coffee FTTX95 10-Cup Programmable Thermal Coffeemaker, Black/Stainless Review

Mr. Coffee FTTX95 10-Cup Programmable Thermal Coffeemaker, Black/StainlessFirst the good:
--It looks nice sitting on your counter.
--The beeping sound to signify the end of the brewing cycle is nice.

Now the bad:
--You will never get anything but a warm cup of coffee out of this coffee maker. And if you add milk or cream to your coffee, the result is lukewarm at best. You will aways have to put your coffee in the microwave. This is true no matter how close you follow the directions, and no matter how creative you get. Even if you remove the carafe from the unit after the brewing cycle is completed, your coffee will only be warm. The instruction manual says to completely fill the carafe with very hot water and let it sit for 10 minutes before brewing in order to heat up the carafe.Okay, during the morning rush to get out to work, who has time to let their kitchen faucet run for a few minutes to get hot water (especially in the winter) and then wait for 10 minutes with the water in the carafe and then wait for the brewing cycle to end?
--The carafe is stainless steel - no glass lining (which is the best insulation material)Not sure who the genius is that thinks stainless steel is an insulator.
--The Pause-and-serve mechanism broke on the third day.I went to pull out the carafe to grab a cup and coffee came splashing down all over my hand.
--This isn't a huge deal but the clock is so bright I'm fairly certain it could serve as a beacon to guide large ships sailing past rocky coast lines.

BUNN BX-B Classic 10-Cup Home Coffee Brewer, Black Review

BUNN BX-B Classic 10-Cup Home Coffee Brewer, BlackI will not bore you with all of the exact specifics of this coffee brewer. There are plenty of other reviews here on AmazonBUNN BX-B Classic 10-Cup Home Coffee Brewer, Black or check the Bunn website for additional info here:http://www.bunnomatic.com/retail/products/b.html

This Bunn BX-B 10-cup coffe brewer is a pricey but fantastic coffee maker for your home or small office.I bought one for my office, so that I can make myself a quick pot of coffee when I get to work or whenever someone stops by to visit my office during the day. This machine makes coffe FAST and the flavor of the coffee is always consistent.Although I have never found many of the Bunn coffee makers to be much of a fashion statement, this unit is fairly high-tech looking, with its black and stainless color combination.Since the water flows out of this unit so quickly, using a showerhead type spray pattern, I highly suggest that you always use genuine Bunn coffee filters as the store brand filters are usually not tall enough, causing the ground coffee to splash up and over the edge of the shorter filters.

One noteable difference between this and most previous pour-over Bunn models is that this unit does not require the use of a seperate water pitcher. You simply fill your coffee pot with water, lift the little door on the top/front of the unit and pour your water in.The most important step is to place the coffee pot on the warmer plate, being sure to center it properly, before lowering the door on the top of the coffee maker. As soon as you lower the door the water will start to flow quickly. If you lower the door before you place the pot underneath, you will likely end up with a bit of a mess. Also, I recommend that you insert your filter and pour in your measured amount of ground coffee before pouring water into the Bunn, because even with the door up I find that some water tends to drip from the output nozzle, causing water to drip down onto the warmer plate.I fill my pot with water, set it aside while installing my filter and ground coffee, then pour in my water, center the pot on the warmer plate and then lower the door. This has produced proper function every time, without any mess to clean up.

My likes and dislikes are as follows:

Pros:
*****
-Makes a pot of coffee in only 3 minutes or less!
-Consistent coffee flavor with every pot
-No need to use a seperate water pitcher as with previous Bunn models
-Simplistic operation that anyone can handle
-Easy to clean and maintain
-Pleasing black and stainless steel design
-Build quality seems to be much higher than many other coffee makers

Cons:
*****
-No automatic shutoff (could pose hazzard if warmer plate is left on over the weekend)
-No timer feature for brewing coffee at a set time
-No temperature control for the warmer plate (it gets VERY hot!)
-If you don't use it for several days some of the water evaporates from the hot water tank
-Must use genuine Bunn coffee filters, which are not always easy to find
-Pricey for a basic coffee maker

The cons are somewhat minor but the lack of an automatic shutoff really bothers me.I ended up purchasing a seperate digital appliance timer, which I plug the Bunn coffee maker into, so that I can set power on and off times. This way I don't have to worry about leaving the warmer plate turned on over night or over the weekend.Overall I am extremely happy with my Bunn BX-B coffee brewer. It is easy to use and makes a great tasting pot of coffee in just under 3 minutes. It is also a great device for producing plain hot water. If you exclude the filter and coffee this unit produces a pot of very hot water in less time than it takes to make the normal pot of coffee. This is great for making instant coffee, hot chocolate, tea, instant oatmeal, etc.The BX-B carries a pretty hefty price tag (as all Bunn models do), but it is built well and makes excellent coffee in a flash. If you believe that time is money (as I do), then the Bunn BX-B is worth every penny for all of the time you'll save.=o)
