Hamilton Beach Stay Or Go Coffeemaker, Clock Review

Originally bought one of these for my mother after her beloved Mr. Coffee finally went to its' maker.After reading many reviews, I felt fairly confident purchasing it for her.She makes a pot in the morning, and has a cup or two before work.With the thermos, the same pot is still plenty hot when she comes home from work and, she claims, as good as the first cup.Well, I got deployed to a warm and sandy place (I'm Army, guess where), and decided to get a new maker to replace the piece of cr*p the previous tenants were using, and ordered the #45224 for myself and my crew.It arrived promptly, considering (thank you Amazon!) and was soon pressed into heavy duty service.Thought the thermos would be useful, but frankly, a pot of coffee doesn't stay full for long here.But so far it's performed like a champ, making 8 to 10 pots a day.We use bottled water exclusively, so didn't bother with the filter.Our only quibbles are there's no way to tell if the thermos is empty till you pour that last drop.Also, the brew light is fairly dim, and unless the pot is directly in front of you, difficult to see under florescent lighting.However, everything else about the machine is excellent.I'd write a nice review on the included mugs, but the CG took a shine to one of them and it's now in his office, and I couldn't even begin to guess where the other one went (things that are good tend to "get legs" around here).I will be buying this maker again in the future.

Farberware FCM12SS 12-Cup Coffeemaker, Stainless/Black Review

Like everyone else, I found the absurdly tiny opening for the water is a royal pain, & certainly drags the rating for this way down. After setting it up, impressed with the features, & price, I couldn't even see where the water should go, and looked to the instructions, which weren't much help. I finally realized, that despite a huge lid, which is only for the filter, the opening for filling was a tiny, narrow slit towards the rear of the unit. This is way too small, and not only must you be a great aim, but it's quite awkward maneuvering the carafe to enable it to fully empty!

I truly cannot believe that someone, or ones, were paid to "design" this model! What were they thinking???

Oh, well, this is the third coffeemaker I've bought recently, the first two were even even worse, so I'm still undecided if I'll return this, or just live with having to be ultra-precise when filling it.....

Krups KT4065 Precision Stainless Steel Precision Thermal Coffee Maker 10-c. Review

...but this may be the worst coffee maker ever designed. I've cleaned up my last overflow and am heading out to replace it. Yes, it looks great, and when it works, it makes good coffee. I was even willing to put up with the difficult water reservoir and the hard-to-read water gauge, but there is a problem with the design of the small flaps in the lid and the coffee ends up everywhere but in the pot. And today the small plastic tab that makes it possible to open the lid broke off. Could anything more go wrong with this design?

Cuisinart Coffee Maker & Grinder - Thermal Carafe - Stainless steel Review

We just got this coffee pot at Costco for $99 and LOVE IT! It takes a little more work getting set up than our old Mr. Coffee pot. You have to clean the grinding components each time for optimal taste - that is why I only gave it 4 stars. But the extra time is worth it. The coffee tastes amazing and it is ready when we wake up in the morning. I haven't experienced any leaking problems like I have heard about.

Are you tired of parts made of plastic and not real metal? We bought this particular model because we want our coffee to brew fast and wanted an insulated pot to avoid coffee cooking or forgetting to turn off the burner.It would be an exact fit for our requirements if not for a few quality flaws.First, as with another Bunn we recently owned, the water releases into the grounds in such a way that they splash up the side and a little bit out of the grounds basket - creating a mess you don't have with other brands.(We've tried different methods to prevent this but they don't work consistently.) Also, where the top black piece of the pot assembly is supposed to be sealed with the chrome portion, there is not a tight seal so when you pour a cup of coffee it dribbles out of the seal which makes a mess.(No we haven't dropped it or put it in the dishwasher - this started within the first few days of use.) Summary: Was willing to pay the high price to get the features and company name behind this product initially but the quality of the build is disappointing.Thought the quality problem with my first Bunn purchase was perhaps a one-time thing.Considering this second quality problem with a Bunn purchase, I will not be buying any future products from them.

Technivorm KBT-741 Moccamaster polished silver Coffee Maker 1.25-L. Review

I just got this and must say it does the job ( hence the 5 of 5)of delivering the hot water to the coffee and brewing very good coffee, but it hasquirksI'm not appreciating inmy morning coffee brewing routine.First after its finished brewing there is still 1/2 cup of water in the "plumbing" which requires you to tip the pot over and empty very hot water out, other wiseyou'll be starting with stale water and perhaps accelerating the scaling,
second the foot plate does not "lock in" as they say so when you lift the pot to move it( or empty it)it does fall off ,
third to my dismay the thermal jug will require a brush to keep clean as the mouth is too narrow to get your hand in there to scrub( this is also a VERYBIGproblem with my Capresso thermal),
fourth since the top of the thermal jug does not fitback in under the coffee basket when its on thejug I'm tryig to figure out where to keep everything so not to use up extracounter space nor lose the top
Fifth asIslide itaround on the counter top( out to be used and backinwhen not) the feet are leaving some marks ( which come up with cleaning) on the granite countertop.
and last it seems for few dollars more they could have included a circuit to turn it self off when its done brewing, rather than leaving it to the early morning harried coffee drinker to remembertoswitch it off. So yes very good coffee, butthe quirks are on par with the ones you deal with with a french press ( which is much cheaper)
