Pasquini Livia 90 Automatic Espresso Machine Review

Recently my La Pavoni broke down after 3 years, so I had to look for another machine. My machine of choice for espresso has always been Cimballi, but I was not impressed with any of their machines, which did not require a water line. After some searching and recommendation from a friend I happened upon the Pasquini Livia 90.

As far as espresso machines go, the Pasquini Livia 90 is the best unit that does not require a water line.The water resevoir holds a very large amount of water and the espresso made with this machine is simply amazing.

A good espresso should have a thick layer of creme on top (goldish brown in color) which will hold the sugar poured in to the coffee afloat for a few seconds.The Pasquini Livia 90 was the first machine I've owned to accomplish the feat.I've owned a $700 Krups Fully Automated Machine, used a $3,000 Fully Automated Machine and owned the La Pavoni fully manual machine.However, the Pasquini was the only machine to provide the perfect creme.

The steam produced by the machine will froth milk for any of the popular espresso drinks and the ability to draw hot water from the unit is also a nice touch.Unlike some machines you can leave the unit on for long periods of time without having to worry about burning out the machine.

For years, have enjoyed the Capresso 121.Clever design, good espresso for the price, good entry level machine.Come Father's Day last, decided to splurge on a big step up.A lot of money and so approached this with considerable trepidation.Has proven to be worth every penny.

Saeco Talea Giro Fully Automatic Espresso/Coffee Machine Review

I received my coffee maker and loved it for almost a year, until it stopped dripping the coffee.I had followed all the directions for cleaning and servicing the machine.I called the Arabee company from whom I purchased it.

They promptly made arrangement for me to get it back to them, as it was still under warranty.They have now had it for over 4 months and I can't get a proper response from them.I have been told that it took 6 weeks in the queue to get to service, then they needed a part, which may or may not have had to come from Italy.Now they won't even return calls or answer when I call.The next step, I guess is a legal one to get a new coffee maker or some form of recovery.

Loved the coffee maker while I had it.

Saeco Aroma Espresso Coffee Machine - Black Review

Fine machine.Brews an excellent shot with good head.Heats up quickly and the durability has been excellent.Steams well but it definitely takes longer than I'm used to.I have this one at work but the 30013 at home which I think is an even better model.Brews and steams much quicker and while the case is the same the push buttons on this one feel less solid than the flip switches on the 30013.

Mr. Coffee ECM250 4-Cup Espresso/Cappuccino Maker Review

I received the Mr. Coffee Espresso/Cappuccino Maker as a gift. Obviously it's not going to produce the same results as some of the more expensive models but I think it works well enough for personal use. It's very simple to use-it only has two functions: brew or steam.

Inoticed that several people commented about leaking and the instructions warn that this can occur if there are grounds around the top of the filter or if you over-fill the filter. The frothing arm is very short but I found a small frothing pitcher at World Market that works well. As far as worrying about aluminum in your espresso, the instructions also warn that you shouldn't leave water in the reservoir when you're not using the machine. The only other thing to remember is that you MUST de-pressurize the system before removing the filter holder or water reservoir cap!! To do this, unplug the machine, wait for it to cool off, then turn the knob to "steam" until you hear the hissing stop.

I think that for the price, this machine produces a nice cup of espresso in a relatively short amount of time.
