Three of us go through at least 12 cups a day and I have found most machines break after a year, regardless of price. I purchased the home brewer on a Sunday and have packed it up on Thurs.! The programing system does not work. I set the timer for 6:45 on the second day because it takes a solid 15 minutes to brew 12C of WEAK coffee. I heard the machine start brewing at 4:45 am, thinking someone may have changed the setting i checked..no..it was arbitrarily brewing itself...the next morning it changed it's own time..two hours slower..back to the store it goes. We burr grind (GE) our beans for each brewing and we used almost 1LB of beans trying to get a decent cup..not an almost clear liquid. I love our 10c French press, but there is no press large enough for all of us to drink coffee on the go.I have read other reviews concerning B&D coffee pots and I think they have failed to remedy a programing chip in their pots. NOT worth the $19.99 I paid..not worth 1 cent.. I hate paying over $100 for another system that will break in a year.. Back to searching for a reasonably priced coffee maker and my french press.
